  Anyone here into Swing Dancing/Music?

  i was wondering how many others are on this board that enjoy swing dancing and the music?

  i have been doing it myself for over 8 years now and love it.

  i mostly do east coast and lindy.

  Elders? Ministerial servants? Pioneers

  how many of you were elders or ministerial servants or pioneers?

  were you an elder or ms or pioneer when you realized it wasn't the truth or a had you stepped down already, were you "weak" when you realized it?

  I was a Regular Pioneer and went to Pioneer School in 1987. I was always open minded about all their beliefs and found that I felt guilty because of this. I felt I wasn't doing the preaching work whole heartedly, but only doing it because I felt I should....that it was the good thing to do to get closer to Jovah. I was trying to associate with the "in" crowd.

  I was an elders daughter, raised in the org., and basically my brothers and I were considered the good kids in the kingdom hall....hell, I never even got called into a meeting in the "back room" with any of the elders. So, I also felt the pressure of not letting my JW parents down. I truely understand the guilt and the pressure associated with remaining an active witness!

  I fianally decided to take my life into my own hands when I divorced my abusive JW husband in 1998 and left the organization. I did it the "slow fade" way during and after the divorce. I was tired of not being allowed to be me and tired of having my own needs ignored. I am now much happier, guilt free, and feel I am a worthy person........and it's not based on how many doors I can knock on, but by the spirit that drives me and the true lady that I am.

  The SOB gets 6 Months in the Gray Bar Hotel

  hi all ... i am back from oregon ... yes, i am going to make my last three thoughtful posts ... but ... some news first ... .

  you may recall that last january-february my son-in-law's jw dad admitted guilt to his act of pedophilia with a non-jw girl ... he was tested with a device that checks sexual response to child porn ... based on that his sentencing would be determined ... and ... the family and i thought that he would only get 10 years probation based on what the prosecutor told me ... well ... i just learned that he also earned 6 months in the gray-bar hotel ... lovingly sponsored by the local county jail ... it will start in early january and end in early june 2003.

  (the maximum sentance in oregon is about 7 years for his specific crime.

  Amazing,

  It is my understanding that If he was convicted of a sex offense, then he will not be allowed near minor children at all once he is released. He will then have to register as a sex offender. Is he around his grandchildren?

  May I ask where in Oregon were you? I live in Beaverton, Oregon.
